acrylic, 11 x 14, June 28, 2013
I painted this in a steady downpour in an Oakville park. A group of mothers had brought their children for a morning play group. Remember how very young children love the rain? Running around barefoot, with diapers sodden and threatening to come down. Robin in the rain, you're a saucy fellow. Robin in the rain, with your socks of yellow.
I have an artist's umbrella which I clamped to a home made device on my aluminum "shelf", great Canadian product called Easel Butler. This is a plug, but I can't recommend this more highly - it is far superior to attaching an easel to the camera mount of a tripod.
